Supervising Investigator, Orange County (CA) District Attorney's Office

Supervising Investigator has been with the Orange Co. D.A.'s Bureau of Investigation since 1994. He has been assigned to the Intelligence/Organized Crime Unit/Anti- Terrorism Unit since 1996 and has supervised the unit since July 2001. Prior to being assigned to the Intelligence Unit, he worked the Gang Target Unit in Orange County for 2 years. In 2002, he was selected as the Orange Co. D.A.'s Office nomination for Investigator of the Year to the California District Attorney's Investigators Association related to the Horace Mckenna unsolved murder investigation.





Prior the becoming an investigator for the Orange Co. D.A.'s office, Supervising Investigator Morton served 26 years with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). His entire career with LAPD was spent in field assignments, including 6 yrs in vice and intelligence. He supervised both the Venice and Hollywood Division Vice Units. In 1994, he retired as a Lt. Commanding Officer of Newton St. Detective Division.





Supervising Investigator Morton has been the LEIU representative for the Orange County District Attorney's Office since 2000. He also was a founding member of the Western Regional Organized Crime Association (W.R.O.C.) and is currently President of the association. W.R.O.C. is a professional organization comprised of law enforcement personnel in the states of California, Nevada and Arizona whose primary duties include the investigation of traditional organized crime by local, state and federal law enforcement.
